Toledo Ohio Fall Family Mini Sessions

We had the most beautiful day for weekend #2 of Toledo Ohio fall family mini sessions! This is the only time that I offer family photo sessions and it makes me wish that I could do them more often. It’s already starting to look more and more like winter - I am going to miss these amazing fall colors so much!

Because my regular schedule gets filled up with newborn, maternity and baby sessions, I set aside a weekend (or 2!) in the fall for family minis. Aside from Christmas mini sessions, this is typically the only time that I offer outdoor family photography sessions.

Fall Family Mini Sessions take place in the greater Toledo Ohio / NW Ohio areas, such as Sylvania, Perrysburg, Monclova, Whitehouse, Holland, Ottawa Hills, Rossford, etc - many clients travel to me from areas of SE Michigan such as Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Monroe, Dundee, etc.

Magnolia (how amazing is that name though!) came into my Toledo Ohio Newborn Photography Studio when she was just a day shy of 1 month old - In the world of newborn photography, that is considered super “old” for newborn photos! Typically, I like to see newborns when they are between 5-21 days as old, as this is when they are more sleepy and easier to pose. As you can see, we were still able to capture her newness and just look at that smile! I definitely had to pull out a lot of my tricks to keep her sleepy, happy & comfortable but I am just so happy with what we were able to get!

This newborn photo session was booked very last minute - I always try my best accommodate last minute session requests, however, I am not always able to do so. In order to ensure a spot in my schedule, I recommend booking your newborn photography session while still in the 2nd trimester. Due to the unpredictable nature of newborns, I am only able to accept a limited number of sessions each month. Since the actual arrival of your baby is typically unknown, I hold space on my calendar for around the time of your due date. Once your little one has arrived, we will then schedule a date & time for our photography session.

All newborn sessions are done in my bright & airy natural light studio located in Sylvania Ohio. I am located just outside of Toledo Ohio and have clients travel to me from all over NW Ohio and SE Michigan, including Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Holland, Rossford, Bowling Green, Ann Arbor, Monroe, Ypsilanti, Dundee, Detroit and other surrounding areas!

Something sweet for you on this drizzly, dreary Monday! It’s Beggars Night in my neighborhood, so I’m hoping it clears up a bit for all of the trick-or-treaters tonight!

I just love mama (and daddy) snuggles so much! I always make sure to get everyone looking and smiling at the camera, too…but these always speak to me more. Lifestyle Newborn sessions are still a pretty new addition to my session offerings and I am kicking myself for not doing them sooner! I am absolutely loving all the extra snuggles and loving that I am able to capture with this boho lifestyle bed setup. We can definitely still capture all of the love with a Signature Newborn session, however, these Lifestyle photography sessions just seem to give us a bit more opportunity to capture the emotion and cuddles.

Lifestyle newborn photo sessions are scheduled to take place when your sweet baby is between 5-21 days old. This is when babies are still in that sleepy, curled up, milk drunk phase. They change so, so much in those first couple weeks! These sessions include poses with parents and siblings on our boho, white, bright & airy bed setup, as well as poses of just baby. All poses of your baby are done either wrapped or in an outfit - no unwrapped/naked poses with this type of newborn session. I focus on capturing relaxed, less posed (but still posed, haha!) poses of your baby - not the more intricate, very detailed posing like you see with my Signature Newborn sessions. I include a variety of props as well as some of just your baby without props.

All newborn photoshoots take place in my natural light home studio in Sylvania Ohio - it is fully stocked with absolutely everything needed! I provide all of those adorable outfits, wraps, hats & bonnets, headbands & flower crowns, unique and vintage props, etc. I do have a small selection of wardrobe options for mama! If you are interested in this, just ask and I will show you what options I have available (I am working on expanding my mama clothing options!).

Toledo Ohio Family Photographer

I had my first weekend of family fall mini sessions and it was SO GOOD! We had the best weather, the most gorgeous location, and I got to catch up with some of my favorite families! That last photo is a pretty epic “the true reality of family photos” moment, haha! No worries though, we got some smiles too!

I only offer family sessions once or twice a year - I always do Fall Mini Sessions in October but sometimes I also do them in the spring or summer. This is the only time I do family photography sessions! My schedule is filled with newborn, baby and maternity sessions (which are my speciality and what I devote my time to), so I just don’t have a lot of room in my schedule to offer family sessions on a regular basis. This is my way of staying connected with all of my awesome clients! I especially love getting to watch my newborn clients grow up over the years. Many. of my past newborn clients are now 6, 7, 8, 9+ years old and it is THE BEST thing when I get to see them again for fall mini sessions!

Family Fall Mini Sessions take place at a beautiful outdoor location - I always try to pick a spot that has beautiful fall colors and foliage! Mini Sessions are done on one day and are scheduled back-t0-back in 20 minute increments, approximately 1-2 hours before sunset. I always offer my newsletter subscribers the first chance at booking mini sessions, so I definitely suggest signing up for that so you don’t miss out! They tend to sell out pretty quickly!

Ann Arbor Cake Smash Photography Session

I love a good before and after — before the cake smash and after the cake smash! Just so much fun!

This 1st birthday cake smash session took place in my home photography studio located in Sylvania Ohio, which is in Toledo Ohio. I always start with a couple photos of your birthday baby without the cake, then we bring out the cake and let the fun begin! One outfit/setup is included. As part of your photography session experience, all clients gain access to my client closet. It is stocked full of outfits, headbands/flower crowns, props and more! The only thing you are responsible for bringing is the cake, I will take care of the rest! I provide simple props such as a cake stand, non-helium balloons, florals & greenery, and other simple decor - if you are envisioning something a little more elaborate (such as a character theme, sport theme, etc) then you will bring your own props/decor, in that case. We will work together to create a beautiful setup!

I typically book out at least a month in advance, or even 2-3 months in advance during busier times of the year. Therefore, I do suggest booking your session with plenty of notice. Upon booking, you will be sent a prep guide that is filled with some very helpful information to help you plan for your cake smash session and know what to expect. Leading up to your smash the cake photography session, we will discuss what you are envisioning and work together to create a beautiful setup. I love planning cake smashes!

Ann Arbor Lifestyle Newborn Photo Session

There is just something about a baby girl and her daddy that melts my heart! I absolutely love the parent / family portion of lifestyle newborn photography sessions - these sessions take place in my natural light home studio located in Sylvania Ohio and I serve clients all over Ann Arbor Michigan, Detroit Michigan, as well as NW Ohio (Toledo, Bowling Green, Findlay, Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Holland, Rossford, Monclova, Whitehouse, Waterville, etc)

Toledo Ohio Cake Smash Photo Session

Cake smashes are always interesting because you never know whether the birthday baby is going to barely touch their cake or if they’re going to absolutely smash it. It’s safe to say that this sweet girl demolished her cake! At first, she wasn’t quite sure if she really wanted to eat her cake…but, she definitely figured it out by the end and loved her smash cake! No matter how many cake smash photo sessions I have in my studio, they are always a blast and I end up laughing through the whole thing - there is just something so fun about watching a baby dig into a big ol’ cake!

Cake smashes are done for your little ones 1st birthday to celebrate their big milestone! They can be done in-studio or outdoors. My natural light home studio is located in Sylvania Ohio and I photograph outdoor sessions at some of my favorite spots in the Toledo area. The cake is provided by the client, however, I can provide an outfit, headband, balloons, cake stand, etc. If you want a very specific theme (such as a TV character), then those specific props may need to be provided. I love simple balloon arch cake smashes like this one, however, we can go over the top too! We will work together to create a beautiful cake smash setup!

My schedule tends to fill up at least 1-2 months in advance. Therefore, I recommend booking your cake smash photos well in advance.

Toledo Ohio Lifestyle Newborn Photo Session

I didn’t even know this gorgeous girls family owns a lavender farm when I pulled this purple setup! She is absolutely stunning!

I am really, really loving these in-studio lifestyle newborn photo sessions. I have wanted to add them to my offerings for quite some time! However, my studio is pretty small and cozy, so it was a challenge figuring out how to make it work in my space. I was finally able to figure it out and wow, I LOVE it and can’t wait to do more!

Lifestyle Newborn Sessions take place in my natural light home studio located in Sylvania, Ohio, I have clients travel to me from all over NW Ohio and Michigan, as well as Toledo, Ann Arbor and Detroit - such as Bowling Green, Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Holland, Rossford, Monclova, Whitehouse, Waterville, Dundee, Adrian, Ypsilanti, Birmingham, Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Plymouth and more!

These sessions are a bit more laid back than my Signature Newborn Sessions. Lifestyle newborn sessions include relaxed family poses with parents and/or siblings on my white, bright & airy boho bed setup, as well as poses of just baby. All poses of your newborn are done either wrapped or in an outfit, no unwrapped/naked poses with this type of session - if you are looking for froggy or other intricate poses, then I would definitely recommend my Signature Newborn Session instead. All poses of baby are done in a prop (such as this super cute boho chair shown above!) or just naturally relaxed on the boho bed setup.
